Cape Associates, Inc. was established in 1971 by Lester F. Langhans, Jr., a life-long builder who had relocated to the Cape a year earlier. From three employees to over eighty full-time, year ‘round employees, the company has grown to be one of the largest builders on Cape Cod and the second-largest employer in Eastham. In 1978 an office, warehouse and shop encompassing over 5,000 square feet was constructed at our present site in North Eastham. This facility houses a fully equipped and staffed office, storage for our construction equipment and vehicles, and a large heated shop for woodworking projects and winter painting. Of significance to our customers, it also allows us to store the records of our past jobs. In the fall of 2002, we opened our second office in Barnstable. Cape Associates currently works all over Cape Cod, from our many projects in Provincetown to Cotuit and Falmouth.

Cape Associates has been committed to employing its own carpenters and painters. We feel this approach permits the constant, effective communication between us and our customers necessary for successful custom construction. Another advantage to in-house employees is quality control through better coordination and clear lines of responsibility. The employees of Cape Associates take pride in their work; many have worked here for over ten, fifteen, twenty, and even thirty years! Currently, there are more than 80 field employees consisting of foremen, journeymen carpenters, apprentice carpenters, painters, a mason, tile setters, and a truck driver.

Michael H. Cole

Michael H. Cole is the President. Mike is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Engineering and started as a carpenter’s helper in 1972.

Mark P. Kinnane

Mark P. Kinnane is the Executive Vice President of Cape Associates. Mark has risen through the ranks since 1982, starting as a carpenter, became lead foreman, then Project Manager, and now Vice President

Matthew H. Cole

Matthew H. Cole is the Vice-President of Business Development. Matt re-joined Cape Associates after working in commercial construction out of New York City for seven years. He has an engineering degree from Bucknell University. Matthew carries the Certified Green Professional designation.

Robert P. Creonte

Robert P. Creonte is a Senior Project Manager. Bob joined us in 1998 and has worked on the Lower Cape in the construction industry for over 34 years. Bob is the company safety officer.

Richard M. Bryant

Richard M. Bryant is a Senior Project Manager. Rich joined Cape Associates in April 2004. He possesses an engineering degree from the University of New Hampshire, has 5 years experience in structural design and also has a strong construction background. Rich has recently moved to the Yarmouthport office, and is responsible for business development and management of that office, which covers the mid and upper-cape.

Trevor Meyer

Cape Associates added another project manager, Trevor Meyer, to the Eastham office. Trevor graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in Operations Management and will be estimating work, running projects and has also been doing capital planning for Seamen’s Bank. He lives in Dennis and enjoys playing softball.

April Ducott

In August, April Pond Ducott joined Cape Associates as a Project Manager. Ever since her graduation from Roger Williams University, April has worked in project management in the construction field. She has her Construction Supervisor’s License and is certified as an NAHB Green professional. She will be working out of both our Eastham and Yarmouthport offices. April and her husband, Sean, live in Chatham with their daughter, Charlie.

David P. Hedin

David P. Hedin is the Service Department Manager. Dave started over fifteen years ago as the truck driver and has since moved on to nurture the Small Jobs and Home Property Watch business. Dave and his team of assistant and managers have excelled at providing responsive and efficient construction services to smaller projects and property management clients over the past two decades.

Derik Burgess

Derik Burgess runs the Service Department exclusively in Provincetown. Derik is a certified HERS rater and can do thorough energy audits of new and existing homes.

Brad Haven

Brad Haven runs the Services Department and the Home Property Watch group in the Yarmouthport Office.

Peter E. Geiges

Peter E. Geiges joined Cape Associates in 1997. Peter, as part of the Cape Associates Home Property Watch Service team, inspects over 180 homes in the off-season.

Cinnamon A. Swable

Cinnamon A. Swable is a long time Cape resident. She recently joined Cape Associates and is the Property Management Department Manager.

Paul Prisco

Paul has 15 years in the construction field, licensed and registered. He brings to the property management team his expertise in small remodels and property management skills. He has managed multiple residential and commercial properties over the last 12 years. His interests include fishing, camping and spending time with his children along with cooking and catering large dinner parties amongst friends and family.

Steve N. Zayatz

Steve N. Zayatz is the sales manager of the painting divison out of the Eastham office. Steve has been with Cape Associates since 1993 and has been in the painting construction industry since 1985.

Paul Dunn

Paul Dunn is the painting division sales manager in our Yarmouthport office. Paul has been in the painting industry as a painting contractor since 2001 and has extensive knowledge about painting products and procedures. Paul has a degree in Photography and finds his knowledge of color a great help to our clients. He lives in Falmouth and is an avid bike rider and striped bass fisherman.

Robert G. Clark

Robert G. Clark joined Cape Associates in September, 2000. Bob is the Accountant.

Lindsay J. Richards

Lindsay J. Richards joined Cape Associates full time upon her graduation from Stonehill College in 1999. Lindsay is the Human Resources Manager and responsible for payroll.

Casey L. Cole

Casey grew up on Cape Cod and graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is the Information Systems Manager for Cape Associates.
