Metal roofing has been around for decades but is a trend on the rise for residential projects. As homeowners look to reduce energy costs and focus on sustainability and efficiency, building and renovating with metal roofing has increased dramatically, especially in coastal areas like
Cape Cod.

Typically applied in long, standing-seam panels, metal roofs reflect solar energy and greatly decrease the absorption of heat into the home. Pre-painted or granular coated metal roofing systems not only reflect solar energy but they also cool the home by re-emitting solar radiation.

Metal roofing systems are great for renovation projects because they can reduce landfill waste and allow for quick installation. Allen Furman, a Cape Associates Project Manager who has recently completed three major projects featuring metal roofing adds, “I’m seeing more and more clients choose metal roofing for their homes on Cape Cod. This option tends to be more expensive but as it becomes more mainstream I think pricing will become more competitive.
