Paint Corner: What’s New in Paint?

Sherwin-Williams® Paint Shield® Microbicidal Paint

Now the walls in your home have the power to kill bacteria. Sherwin Williams has developed an interior paint called Paint Shield that is the first EPA-Registered Microbicidal paint. It kills 99.9% of Staph, MRSA, E. coli, VRE and other nasty bacteria within 2 hours of contact on painted walls. It’s available in 550 light to medium colors in an eggshell finish. This paint gives new meaning to the word clean house.

From Sherwin Williams:

Paint Shield® was created with the intention of being used in non-critical areas of the hospital including patient rooms, hallways, office areas and emergency departments. Beyond health care environments, it is ideal for a variety of settings such as athletic facilities, schools, day care centers, senior care communities, residential housing, hospitality settings, and cruise ships.
