New Home, Orleans, MA

Cape Associates Design/Build

Cape Associates designed and built this new home in Orleans on a site that looks out over the water. The house rises in three levels, with gray shingles above and a lower story faced in natural fieldstone. Gabled dormers and a steep roof add character above.

Balconies on the upper floors catch the view, and wooden stairs lead to the lawn. A cedar-screened outdoor shower is built against the stone wall beneath the deck. Window-lined walls and glass doors open the house toward the outdoors.

Inside, the primary suite has a beamed vaulted ceiling, a sliding door to a balcony and a view of the water. A fireplace with a stone surround sits across from the bed.

• Stone lower level and outdoor shower
• Double vanity with a rustic wood base
• Freestanding soaking tub
• Curved stair with white balusters
• Marble-tiled shower with a mosaic border
