Wine Cellar, Truro

This wine cellar in Truro was designed and built by Cape Associates Design/Build. It is a custom room made entirely from rich, dark-stained wood, with every surface fitted to hold and display bottles.

Floor-to-ceiling racking covers the walls, with individual bottle slots, diamond bins and horizontal shelves for display. A recessed ceiling with small lights gives the room a warm glow, and a vent grille sits high on one wall.

At the center is a tasting table topped with a live-edge slab of reddish wood, polished to a deep shine. It has racks built into its base, and wine glasses and bottles sit on top. Mixed-width planks give the floor a patterned look.

The floor is a patterned plank in mixed tones. At the entry, a cabinet with a leaded glass panel and a row of bottles sets the character of the room before you step inside.
