Housing Assistance Corporation Apartments, Orleans, MA

These Housing Assistance Corporation apartments in Orleans were built by Cape Associates as multi-family housing. An aerial photo shows a group of gray-roofed, white-sided buildings with gabled wings arranged around a paved courtyard and parking area, backed by woodland.

Inside, the apartments are bright and plainly finished. Living rooms have dark-framed windows with white trim, vinyl plank flooring and recessed ceiling lights, and the open dining area connects to a kitchen with white cabinets, a peninsula counter and stainless appliances.

Bedrooms are fitted with wall-mounted ductless heat pump units, and the bathrooms have white vanities and shower curtains. Neutral walls and wood-look floors carry through every room shown.

The exterior is simple and neat, with dark roofs, light siding, black-framed windows and a cottage-like scale that suits Orleans. Walks lead between the buildings, and the parking area sits to the side of the entries.
