Saltwood

Saltwood is a thoughtfully crafted coastal retreat designed to balance modern luxury with the timeless character of Cape Cod living. Designed by SV Design and built by Cape Associates, the home was envisioned as a sanctuary for gathering, entertaining, wellness, and year-round escape. Natural cedar shingles, dark architectural accents, and warm interior materials create a refined yet inviting aesthetic, while carefully curated spaces—including a screened porch, sunroom, spa-inspired lower level, and chef-focused kitchen—support both relaxation and connection. Set on a challenging sloped waterfront site in Orleans, the home seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living, embracing the surrounding landscape and capturing the quiet elegance of the Cape.

Photos of Saltwood show how the plan comes together in the finished home. The front facade combines cedar shingles with vertical wood siding, a pair of steep gables and dark-framed windows, and a flowering hydrangea border lines the walk.

At the rear, a deck, screened porch and stone terraces step down the slope. A glass-railed balcony adds another place to look out over the trees. Stone steps and a retaining wall connect the lower terrace to the lawn.

Open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces share light oak floors, exposed timber beams and a stair that rises beside the dining table. Large black-framed windows keep the rooms tied to the woods outside.
