Screened Porches

Screened porches are a Cape Cod favorite, and this collection shows the many forms Cape Associates has built. Each one is set to take in air, shade and a view.

Some face tidal marsh or open water. Others look over gardens, a pool or woodland. Ceilings range from white beadboard to stained wood, and floors from painted decking to slate to natural wood.

Highlights from the photos:
• A multi-sided porch with a peaked ceiling
• Navy cushions and a round table on a stained wood deck
• Painted columns and a ceiling fan
• A raised porch with an outdoor stair
• A built-in bench beside a dining table

The porches sit on shingled and clapboard houses, and each one adds a room that is open to the breeze and protected from the bugs. Whatever the style, each porch is framed to keep screens clear of the view and to give furniture a comfortable place to sit.
