Cape Associates Design Team planned and carried out this kitchen renovation in Provincetown. White cabinetry and gray stone counters keep the room bright, while a striped backsplash of mixed dark and light wood adds warmth.

The layout is open to the dining area, with a peninsula and an island that seat guests on tall stools. Wide-plank wood floors run throughout, and glass-fronted cabinets show off dishware.

Stainless steel appliances include a range with a hood and a refrigerator. A dark undermount sink sits under a slim arched faucet. A separate bar nook has a wine refrigerator built under the counter, with the same wood backsplash behind it.

French doors open from the kitchen to a screened porch with a cedar frame, wood floor and a round dining table. Together the open plan, warm materials and wide-plank floors connect the cooking area to the dining space and porch.
