Major Renovation, Orleans, MA
This Orleans renovation opened the back of the house with a long wall of glass. At dusk, the rear elevation glows through sliding doors that span much of the facade, facing a gravel courtyard.
Inside, the kitchen is bright. A lime-green wall sets off blond wood cabinets, a white curved counter with seating, a range hood and pendant lights under a vaulted ceiling.
Other spaces in the photos include:
• A primary bath with small glass mosaic tile and a wall-mounted faucet
• A glass-enclosed shower and a separate soaking tub
• A bedroom with a wall of sliding frosted closet doors
• A fireplace with a dark metal-clad surround and a heavy mantel
The soft sea-glass colors in the baths contrast with the vivid kitchen. Natural light is the thread through the project, from the glass wall at the back to the skylit bathrooms and the bedroom windows.
