Major Renovation, Wellfleet, MA

Cape Associates carried out this major renovation in Wellfleet with AD Architects. The house sits high on a dune above the beach, with white-painted gables and decks that open to the water.

Tall gable windows and cable-and-wood railings frame the views. Inside, an open staircase with wood treads and white railings climbs through a bright space beneath exposed timber trusses, and bookshelves line the landing.

• Kitchen with white cabinets and a counter with seating
• Living room with a round-stone fireplace and wood-topped coffee table
• Dining nook with windows on three sides
• Upper deck with a cable railing facing the open beach

Dune grasses surround the lower levels. White-painted siding, tall paned windows and a gabled bay face the beach. Warm wood handrails and varnished treads add contrast inside, and the glass doors in the sitting area open directly to the deck.
