New Home, Energy Star Certified, Orleans, MA

This Energy Star certified new home in Orleans was built by Cape Associates. The shingled house has a steep gabled roofline with several dormers and a chimney, which gives it a distinctly Cape Cod profile.

From the air, the property sits on a wooded rise above a tidal creek, with a pond close by and neighboring homes spread along the water.

Inside, the photos show:
• A kitchen with an oval island in a dark finish, white cabinetry and glass pendant lights
• A screened porch with blue cushioned wicker chairs and a view over the marsh
• Bedrooms with ceiling fans and wide windows facing the water
• A bathroom with an oval mirror and warm yellow walls

The setting is typical of Orleans, a town with long stretches of shoreline. The Energy Star certification noted in the project title is part of what sets this new house apart from other homes in the area.
