Renovation, Orleans, MA

Cape Associates carried out this renovation in Orleans with architect Frank Shirley. The kitchen is the center of the home, with white cabinets, a dark countertop, gray glazed tile and a long island with a warm wood top and turned white legs.

Glass-front upper cabinets and double doors lead to a screened porch with a stained wood ceiling and blue cushioned furniture overlooking the trees. A deck is visible beyond.

A staircase with white balusters and a dark rail rises beside a sitting area with large windows and a view of the deck. A shower with tile walls and a glass door, plus built-in closets on a landing with a pendant lantern, are also shown.

The interiors are finished with white painted trim, wood floors and gray tile, a palette that keeps the rooms bright and easy to live in. The kitchen windows and porch doors bring in leafy views, and the first floor flows from room to room.
