Renovation, Provincetown, MA

Cape Associates carried out this renovation in Provincetown with Foley Fiore Architecture. The house stands on a rocky slope with a boulder retaining wall, paver driveway strips and a gray-shingled front with a tall glass stair tower.

At the back, a large wood deck has a built-in spa, outdoor seating and a rooftop terrace above. The garden steps up with stone and grasses.

Inside, a floating stair with wood treads, a steel stringer and cable railings climbs through the house. The bedroom has a wood-beamed ceiling, a gas fireplace with built-in shelves and gray painted wainscot, and a bath has a glass shower and wood-framed door.

The exterior combines gray shingles, dark-framed windows and stone, so the house feels at home on a hillside above the town. Inside, warm wood, painted wall paneling and generous glazing make the most of the light and the views.
