Design Build

New Home, Eastham, MA
Cape Associates designed and built this new home in Eastham. The house takes the form of a classic Cape, with a low roofline and white-painted trim.
From the road, a gravel drive leads to a two-bay garage next to the house. At the back, natural cedar shingles meet a wood deck and doors, and the garden shows an outdoor table set for a meal.
Inside, the photos show:
• Wide oak floors and white painted doors with black hardware
• A kitchen with an island in natural wood, rattan stools and white perimeter cabinets
• A shiplap hood with a wood trim band
• Pendant lights with clear glass shades
• A built-in bench with drawers
Eastham sits near the Cape Cod National Seashore and is known for its quiet, wooded lots. The neutral palette lets the natural wood and the navy base cabinets stand out, and the black hardware adds a crisp contrast.

Renovation, Brewster, MA
This waterfront home on Sheep Pond in Brewster underwent a major renovation designed in-house by the Cape Associates team. The project included reconfiguring three bathrooms, transforming an unfinished space above the two-car garage into an additional bedroom and bathroom, and updating windows throughout the home. Thoughtful design, carefully selected finishes and skilled craftsmanship created a more functional and comfortable retreat while preserving the character of its waterfront setting.
The photographs of this Sheep Pond renovation focus on its bathrooms. Cape Associates and its in-house design team gave each one its own character while sharing warm wood and brass details.
One has a stained oak vanity with a round vessel sink, wall-mounted brass faucet and an arched window above. Another has a freestanding oval tub with brass filler beside a glass-enclosed shower.
• White tile and shiplap walls with a gold mirror
• Blue-tile shower wall with a matching oak vanity
• Navy vanity on a blue-and-white patterned floor
• Frameless glass shower doors with brass pulls
• Pendant and sconce lighting
Windows overlook trees and lawn. The restful palette of white, wood and brass is repeated across the baths, and each room has its own window and quiet lighting. The finishes feel warm against white tile, from the oak cabinets to the gold fixtures.

Renovation, Wellfleet, MA
Cape Associates designed and built this renovation in Wellfleet as a design/build project. The house is a cape with natural cedar shingles, a blue front door and a gabled roof with skylights, set on a lawn among tall pines.
A stepping-stone path leads across the grass and past a few boulders, and a fenced outdoor shower and patio sit at the side. Inside, the rooms are bright and open.
• A dining area with a round table and black-framed windows
• Open beams over a living room with a gas fireplace
• A kitchen with white subway tile, a farmhouse sink and a blue-gray island
• A laundry nook with a nautical chart mural and a wood-topped bench
The finishes are cheerful and practical, with black window frames, a shiplap fireplace wall, a rustic mantel and wood-topped counters. Natural light fills the kitchen and living areas, and the pine setting is visible from nearly every room shown.

Renovation, East Orleans, MA
This East Orleans renovation was handled by Cape Associates as design/build. The work touched the kitchen, bedrooms, living spaces and bathrooms, all brought together with light oak floors and neutral walls. Warm wood tones in the furniture and cabinetry give the interiors a lived-in comfort.
The kitchen has honey-toned cabinetry, a white island with seating and a range with a hood. A dining area sits next to it, with a bright family room beyond. Pendant lighting hangs over the island, and a built-in hutch with glass doors holds dishware.
• A primary bedroom with wood furniture and a large bed
• Living rooms with sectional seating
• Windows with woven shades
• Glass doors to a deck
Bathrooms show white tile, glass-enclosed showers, brass faucets and oval mirrors. One has a double vanity in stained wood with a patterned rug. A little wallpaper and wainscoting adds a traditional touch to another.

Remodel, Orleans, MA
Cape Associates Design Team
Cape Associates designed and built this remodel in Orleans. The photos show a kitchen, bathrooms, a laundry area and a mudroom reworked with careful detail.
The kitchen has a large island with a granite-look counter and black stools, a professional-style range, double wall ovens and a tall glossy brown refrigerator. White flat-panel cabinets and a pale glass backsplash keep it bright.
Other areas include:
• A dining area with blue upholstered chairs and a crystal chandelier
• A window seat with blue pillows
• A bathroom with a floating white vanity and warm wood side panels
• Stacked laundry units behind a paneled door
• A mudroom with vertical wood slats and a built-in bench
Dark floors tie the rooms together. Because Cape Associates handled both design and construction, the layout, cabinetry and finishes were planned together as one project.

Renovation, Provincetown, MA
Cape Associates Design Team
Cape Associates designed and built this Provincetown renovation through its Design/Build team. The exterior is cedar shingles with red-painted trim, a wooden pergola and French doors opening to a deck.
The kitchen stands out, with charcoal-gray cabinets, brass pulls and a white counter that wraps into a peninsula with stools. Subway tile and a black range hood continue the dark-and-white scheme. The pergola frames the deck with an open timber lattice.
• Built-in bunk beds in a shared bedroom
• Living room with a curved gray sofa on a black-and-white rug
• Blue-painted walls and a leather chair in a study nook
• Fireplace with a driftwood mantel decoration
• Red front door and black stair railing
Windows and doors throughout are bordered in gray. Textured shingles, white-framed doors and the red trim give the exterior a cheerful but practical look suited to a seaside town.

Renovation, Orleans
Cape Associates Design Team
The Cape Associates Design Team planned this renovation in Orleans. A light-colored clapboard home with a red front door, dormers and a brick chimney gives the front a traditional Cape look. Dark roof shingles contrast with the pale siding.
At the back, a two-level section has a screened porch below and a railed deck above, which face a lawn and a stone patio. Gray shingles clad a lower wing, with a hipped roof that blends into the house. A patio table with an umbrella sits just outside.
