Cape Associates is a third-generation, family-owned Cape Cod builder that has served homeowners since 1971, and Provincetown has been some of our most recognized work. Featured in House Beautiful, Haven in the Trees was designed by Ray Booth Design and photographed by Simon Upton for a narrow, wooded Provincetown site. Rather than clearing the lot to fit a standard plan, the home was designed around the trees, tucked in and elevated to capture light, privacy, and sweeping views. Floor-to-ceiling glass, multiple screened porches, and integrated outdoor spaces connect the house to its landscape, while warm natural materials keep the modern architecture from feeling cold.
A Historic Commercial Street Renovation Featured in the Wall Street Journal
One of our longest and most detailed Provincetown projects was a three-year renovation of a historic circa-1800 Federal-style "floater" home on Commercial Street. Floater homes were physically moved to their current lots generations ago, a common part of Provincetown's building history. Working with interior designer Robert Kaner, the team preserved the home's original character while adding custom millwork, coffered ceilings, handcrafted cabinetry, and restored antique lighting, turning it into a comfortable year-round residence. The project was later featured in the Wall Street Journal.
