Renovation, West Harwich, MA
This West Harwich renovation focuses on light and the coastal view. The photos show rooms with wide windows that look over water and a balcony.
The living room has pale oak floors, striped upholstery and a large blue painting. The kitchen has white cabinets, a white counter, a hood over a range and a gold-toned faucet. A bedroom opens through sliding glass doors to the balcony.
Details in the baths include:
• Vertical gray-blue tile in a walk-in shower
• Brushed brass fixtures and hardware
• A white vanity with a makeup seat
• A marble-look tub surround with a sliding glass door
• Vertical paneling on the walls
Brass accents repeat throughout, which unifies the spaces. Soft neutral fabrics and pale floors let the water views remain the focus of the main living area and the bedroom, with white walls keeping every room light.

Renovation, Harwich Port, MA
This expansive 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod home was thoughtfully renovated to create a welcoming multigenerational retreat designed for gathering, entertaining and summers by the sea. Working in collaboration with interior designer Ariel Okin, Cape Associates brought each space to life through exceptional craftsmanship, custom cabinetry and millwork, and carefully executed details that balance timeless coastal character with everyday comfort and durability. Featuring six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, beautifully layered living spaces and a harborside pool house, the home provides a refined yet relaxed backdrop for generations of family memories. The project was featured in House Beautiful, with photography by Donna Dotan.
Several images in this gallery show the interior details of the Harwich Port home, designed by Ariel Okin and built by Cape Associates. A powder room has coral-pattern wallpaper in blue and white, with a brass faucet and a rope-framed mirror.
A freestanding tub stands in a bright bath, and a staircase has a herringbone runner edged in navy with brass rods. Ocean-themed art appears in several rooms. Brass fixtures and polished nickel taps appear in different baths, each paired with white tile.
• Hallway with wall sconces and paneling
• Upholstered dining chairs in stripes beside a rope-wrapped table
• Lamps with shell bases
• Sailboat paintings
• Drapery with embroidered trim
Outside, a white house with a cupola rises beyond hydrangeas, a fenced walkway and a pool. Layered fabrics, natural fibers and brass give each room its own personality while staying within one coastal palette.

Renovation, Provincetown, MA
This three-year renovation transformed a historic circa-1800 Federal-style “floater” home on Provincetown’s Commercial Street into a comfortable year-round residence. Working in collaboration with interior designer Robert Kaner, Cape Associates carefully preserved the home’s original character while introducing refined modern details, including custom millwork, coffered ceilings, handcrafted cabinetry, restored antique lighting and thoughtfully integrated finishes throughout. The result is a timeless coastal home that honors Provincetown’s history while supporting contemporary living.
Photographs of this Provincetown renovation capture the finishing details that bring the home to life. Outside, a clapboard facade with dark shutters faces the street, and an upper deck has a white railing, a dining table and a view toward the harbor. Tall double-hung windows face the street.
Inside, rooms are layered with pattern. Blue floral wallpaper covers a bedroom, and dark grasscloth lines a study and sitting room. A painted bow-front dresser with a fish motif stands against one wall. A woven headboard and a brass lamp complete one bedroom.
• Upper deck beside a brick chimney
• Floral wallpaper and wood nightstands
• Grasscloth walls and shuttered windows
• A staircase with a carpet runner and wood handrail
• A bathroom with subway tile and a wood vanity
Wood-framed double-hung windows fill the rooms with light. Natural light through the windows plays across the patterned walls and woodwork.

Painted vertical boards cover the walls, and exposed beams run across the living room ceiling. A fireplace sits between built-in bookshelves, and a stair with a black rail rises along one side.
In the kitchen, a farmhouse sink, a butcher-block island and glass-front cabinets hold a collection of blue and white china. French doors open from the dining area to a deck facing the bay, and an upstairs bedroom has its own set of French doors to the water.
The bath includes a soaking tub with a window overlooking the view, a marble-topped vanity and a walk-in shower. A small sitting room under the eaves has a daybed and wall sconces.

Renovation, Orleans, MA
Cape Associates carried out this renovation in Orleans with Architectural Design, Inc. The photos show a transformed interior set within a wooded, waterfront property, with dark walls in the dining room and bright windows elsewhere.
From the drive, a timber entry gable with stone columns marks the front door, under a gray asphalt roof with skylights. Black-framed windows and white siding are repeated across the house.
• Dining room with a pendant light and dark walls
• Staircase with a patterned runner and black metal balusters
• Living room with a black stone fireplace and cream-colored seating
• Kitchen with exposed beams and an island
Wood paneling and a vaulted ceiling bring warmth to the main hall. Large windows frame treetops and water beyond, so the dark finishes in the formal rooms are balanced by daylight in the living and dining spaces.

The kitchen uses flat-panel cabinets in warm wood and white, with white counters and a bar with stools. Upstairs, bedrooms tuck under sloped ceilings, with skylights, ceiling fans and arched or octagonal windows.
A white-tiled bathroom has a matching octagonal window, a floating vanity and cage-style wall lights. Bright finishes keep the upper rooms open, with wall-mounted air handlers, ceiling fans and plenty of daylight.

Renovation, Provincetown, MA
Cape Associates worked with Hammer Architects on this Provincetown renovation. From the road, a low cedar-shingled house sits behind a horizontal wood fence, with a wood-clad entry and dark windows tucked under a gently pitched roof.
Inside, tongue-and-groove wood ceilings run through the living area, where a freestanding gas fireplace sits beside a dining table by tall windows. Large windows bring in light. Warm wood ceilings and floors give the space a cabin-like feel.
• Open kitchen with wood cabinets and a green tile backsplash

• Screened porch with a view of trees
An outdoor shower enclosure stands among the trees, and a playful blue sheep sculpture sits on the stair landing. The wood tones throughout, from the ceilings to the plank walls, create a warm contrast to the white walls and large panes of glass.

Renovation, Brewster, MA
Cape Associates carried out this renovation in Brewster. The photographs show a barn-style building with its heavy timber posts and beams kept in view inside, now arranged as living space.
On the ground floor, a polished concrete floor, white walls and a wood staircase with simple balusters create a bright room. A pair of tall black-framed glass doors opens to the lawn, and horse stall gates remain as a detail.
A wet bar with walnut cabinets, a wine refrigerator and brass faucets sits nearby. A bathroom is finished with white hexagon tile and herringbone floor tile, and a kitchen has steel-fronted cabinets under a timber beam.
The project blends old and new: the original wood structure and stall hardware sit next to clean white walls, new windows and contemporary fixtures. Exposed timber framing carries through to the stairs, giving the living spaces a warm, grounded character.

The centerpiece is a wet bar with navy blue cabinetry, a pale wood counter and a patterned mirrored backsplash. Brass pendants hang above upholstered gray stools, and a beverage refrigerator is built into the cabinets.
Nearby, a large lounge area holds a deep dark sectional, a wall-mounted television and wall sconces. A guest bedroom has an arched metal headboard and a small window high on the wall.
A bathroom completes the level, with a glass-enclosed shower, black fixtures and a warm wood vanity. Light finishes and a restrained palette of navy, gray and brass tie the bar, lounge, bedroom and bath together. Plenty of recessed lighting keeps the rooms bright below grade.

Kitchen & Bath Renovation, Orleans, MA
This Orleans kitchen and bath renovation was completed by Cape Associates working with Huth Architects. Color is the defining idea throughout the photos.
In the kitchen, white upper cabinets sit above blue-gray lower cabinets, with a stainless range hood and a pot filler over a six-burner range. A white ceramic backsplash is laid in a stacked pattern.
The bathrooms each have their own palette:
• Pale blue glass tile with a recessed shower niche
• Soft green ceramic tile with a built-in dark stone bench
• Small mosaic tile in green and in bright turquoise
• A freestanding soaking tub beside a window
• Double-sink vanities with skylights overhead

Cape Associates Design Team
Cape Associates Design Team designed and built these bathrooms in Provincetown, using stone tile with a different pattern in each room. The photographs show close detail as well as full views.
One bath uses banded gray and white stone on the walls with a pale wood vanity, a stone vessel sink, wall-mounted faucets and a mirror above. A glass panel separates the shower from the sink area.
Other rooms use hexagonal marble floor tile, large veined white marble on the walls and dark gray stone in a tall shower. A black stone vanity top with a round white basin and open wall shelving with baskets complete the look.
The rooms share a restrained palette of white, gray and black, with the stone providing the pattern. Floating vanities, wall-mounted faucets and clean mirrors keep the surfaces uncluttered, and the close-up photos show how the tile pieces were laid and joined.

This Orleans house was renovated by Cape Associates with architect Patrick Ahearn. The result has the look of a traditional Colonial, with details that reward a closer look.
The front is cedar shingle and clapboard, with three dormers in a dark gray roof, black shutters and a gabled entry portico with columns. Tall paned windows line the facade, and a stone wall edges the lawn.
At the back, a long deck holds outdoor seating and a grill, and a wing with a roof terrace and white railing gives upstairs views. A brick chimney rises against the shingled gable.
Inside, a kitchen with white cabinets and a stone counter looks through a triple window toward the water. Other rooms have white-painted vertical paneling, a bench with storage, a wood handrail on the stair and a bath with a glass shower and mosaic floor.
